"What can I say about the fantastic tribute band the Pogue Traders? If you like the Pogues you'll love them. If you know nothing about the Pogues, you'll still love them. This is infectious music played with humour and panache by seven talented musicians.
Unfortunately I didn't get to see the Pogues at the height of their considerable powers in the late 80's, so in the absence of a time-travelling DeLorean, the Pogue Traders will do very nicely thank you. They played every classic song I was hoping to hear (and that's a lot of songs) including a terrific rendition of Fairytale of New York - Well worth missing the midnight train back to Brighton for…”

Relig Oran take the traditional music of
England, Ireland, Brittany plus Eastern
Europe and mix it with the exotic sounds
of the African Kalimba, driving percussion,
fiddles and bouzouki’s to produce a heady
mix of flavours and rhythms.
Using innovative and dynamic arrangements
they give the music a contemporary and
exciting twist, at the same time keeping the
spirit and depth of the tradition.
Between them the members of Relig Oran
have toured Europe, recorded several acclaimed
albums and had radio play from Russia to Japan.

“Folk tradition par excellence, bringing their unique sound to the festival. A treat for the senses”.
Faversham International Hop Festival

"Too many superlatives would not be enough to describe Relig Oran. They are a must-see: great musicians, innovative and original."
Debbie Ormsby, Tudor Barn Folk Club, London.

“New amazing music, thanks Sincerely”.
Adam Beresewicz, Radio Bialystok Folk Show, Poland.

“Relig Oran… are fast out of the gate with a big set of tunes,
which they string together with an exceptional ear for composition
and pace. They are gathered from the furthest flung reaches of
Scotland to mainland Europe and form and impressively enjoyable
and varied set. All the playing is good but Martyn Kember-Smith’s
fiddle is an absolute treat. Everyone that evening was treated to an unconditionally
entertaining night of traditional music.
Eclectic and delightful. Not to be missed”.
Christopher Friedenthal, Bright Young Folk (Magazine).

"The band know their stuff. Relig Oran are fast emerging as
a new force in the folk/roots scene."
Steve M, Zebra Arts (Magazine).

“RELIG ORAN, a three piece who kicked up an absolute storm,
with African Kalimba, driving percussion, fiddle and bouzouki with the
“At Oranges we pride ourselves on the quality of the music performed here, of the many folk bands who have played here, we can say without hesitation that Relig Oran sits at the top of the tree. This band has considered the dynamics of their music and brings a freshness that many others would do well to emulate. Relig Oran will be welcome here again and again”.
Oranges Music Club, Ashford, Kent.

“Tracks from the dark side” - Relig Oran.
Very entertaining - all played exceedingly well, a splendid version of Billy Boy.
A talented trio... Book them and have an enjoyable evening”.

Andy Renshaw’s skillfully percussion supported particularly well.
