KlezNorth 2010 ~ Klezmer on a Shoestring! (19-21 March)
A Weekend of Klezmer in the Peak District Fri 19th, Sat 20th, Sun 21st March 2010 at Youlgrave Village Hall, Derbyshire in association with the Jewish Music Institute SOAS University of London. The weekend will contain instrumental workshops, dance workshops and sessions, jam sessions, Yiddish song workshops and opportunities to learn about the historical context of Klezmer music. Workshops will be led by Ros Hawley, Judith Plowman, Sue Cooper, Phil Tomlinson, Adrian Dobson and other Northern Klezmorim. Youlgrave is also a charming village, offering opportunities for delightful walks in the immediate area.
