Back by popular demand! Similar to previous workshops with Ilana, there will be a chance to learn a tune and some accompaniment, and look at some of the modes and style elements that make Klezmer so haunting and joyful.

An evening of Klezmer and Indian Classical music

Cafe Oto, 18-22 Ashwin Street, Dalston, London E8 3DL

Asian Music Circuit and the Jewish Music Institute present INDIAN TRADITIONAL MUSIC / KLEZMER MUSIC / EXPERIMENT.

Kicking off the evening will be the London Klezmer Quartet (Ilana Cravitz (violin), Susi Evans (clarinet), Carol Isaacs (accordion), Francesca Ter-Berg (cello).

Next, Jyotsna Srikanth (violin) with mrindangam accompanist will play Indian classical music

To finish the evening, and as an exploration into the blending of the two genres, there will be an composed piece led by Camilo Tirado (tabla) and Francesca Ter-Berg (cello).
