Hello friends, colleagues
I am playing a gig in London a week on
Sunday (28th March) with Gambian vocalist, composer and master percussionist
Musa M'Boob and his 7pce band Xam Xam - including three awesome
percussionists! It is at a venue called Hootananny Brixton:
We'll be playing most of the songs from
Musa's new album "HARAL: Let me tell you" which I produced and which Musa and
I will be working hard to promote in The Gambia next month. The show is
advertised as being 7-12, I'm told we'll probably be playing Set 1: 8.30-9.10,
Set 2 9.40-10.20 - but it will be flexible and there is a DJ playing African
music before and after.
If you're not in London, please forward this
to any friends, family or colleagues who might be - or even invite them on
Facebook:
It's free to get in on a Sunday and I am
told the Thai food is really good!
I'm really excited by the completion of this
amazing recording project with Musa (who is also known for his previous work
with Ifang Bondi, and currently working with the likes of Alan Skidmore's
Ubizo, Boka Halat and Bololen). We're both very much looking forward to seeing
the reaction from West Africa, and it will be great to give these songs a live
outing with the full band in front of a UK audience.
Please find copies of the flyer attached
(Flyer removed 1d) - if you want more information do give me a shout,
cheers
Tom
