From: Dansez Français <dansezfrancais_at_btinternet_dot_com>Date: 7 March 2010 10:09:47 GMTSubject: Dani Detammaeker's debut in UK... Brighton 27 MarchThis is a real coup, dear dancers, the first time Dani has taught in the UK, and we are so looking forward to it.... and musicians - come and get into the groove of these southern rhythms!!
Dani is a major dance teacher at French dance festivals - Gennetines' Grand Bal de l'Europe, Anost's Festival de Vielle - and in his local area in southern France, around Toulouse, in Gascony, and at the summer festivals on the Mediterranean coast. He is clear, enthusiastic and engagingly energetic, and has a good range of specialist dances as well as the more usual ones, and it'll be in English! For the afternoon workshop Dani will work with us on Rondeaux, Fandango, Branles de Ossau, and bourrées. In the evening, he'll play and sing for the Bal, and there will be the usual social dances too, scottische, mazurka etc., accompanied by his traditional instruments and technical wizardry (ie. looping) to get a full and brilliant sound. His website - http://www.myspace.com/daniipadpe - shows you a small selection of his talents... (we're also going to add footage to our YouTube site of him doing all of this described above, once it's been turned round the right way...)At £14 if you come to both workshop and Bal, this is an amazing chance to be with one of the up&coming teachers from the Source.... and if you want more, you could go to Exeter the next day with him too, contact Carrie Atkinson, via http://d-accordinexeter.blogspot.com/.. :-)Book now! all details on the DF website http://www.dansezfrancais.org.uk/
