Comfy? Let's have a little history lesson. Ten years ago a group of promoters were putting a gig on at the Bull & Gate in Kentish Town, nothing particularly amazing about that, but these promoters wanted a quick and simple way of selling tickets in advance using that new fangled internet.Frustrated by the difficulty of what they thought seemed like a fairly reasonable request and being a bit web savvy themselves they decided to create their own site, and so began WeGotTickets the first ticket agency in the UK to sell paperless e-tickets.
Ten years later, WeGotTickets has become one of the leading ticket agencies in the UK. The innovative idea of selling e-tickets is now standard industry practice and the company has built up a reputation for transparent booking fees, the lowest in the business, and work with charities such as Oxjam and Warchild.
That's what our PR company has to say about us! This "blowing your own trumpet" stuff doesn't really sit comfortably with us but it is our 10th Birthday so you'll forgive us for a little crow, won't you?
To celebrate our first decade we're returning to the place where it all began, the Bull & Gate in North London, for a one-off very special party with live sets from some of our favourite bands Exlovers and Jonquil and DJs Rockfeedback. Tickets are, of course, available in advance for just £7.
"BOOKING-FREE" DAY ON MONDAY 19TH APRIL
Now we appreciate that not all of you are a short hop away from Kentish Town and so won't be able to join us on the 19th. But we wanted to do something to celebrate this landmark that could be shared by all our customers (without whom... etc etc).
After scratching our heads for a little while, we came up with the idea of doing away with our booking fee for the special day itself. This means that you, our customers, will pay absolutely nothing extra on top of the face value ticket price if you buy your tickets on our 10th birthday.
Moreover, as you customers have proved repeatedly to be a caring bunch we've decided to offer you the option of donating to charity what you would have paid in booking fees on any other day of the year. We're just finalising the list of charities that will benefit from this as our plan is to split the money raised between 10 choice causes - it's good to spread the love.More news as it unfolds on our 10th Birthday blog page.
