The weekend of 14th - 16th May sees the inaugural Kings Head Sessions strum into play. A weekend of acoustic based music, all free to enter, at the Kings Head Battle from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.

On the Friday top of the bill is King Size Slim; Saturday's highlight is Brooks Williams from the USA ,who performed at a sell out gig at Mrs Yarringtons Music Club last year. Sunday brings us the much acclaimed Bluesman Jim Crawford together with Logan Wilson, one of this area's most popular artists. Other musicians include respected guitarist Tony Cox (SA) and a smattering of up-and-coming artists like Sorrel Nation & Martin Messent and a good collection of local favourites too.

Hosts Joe & Helen say, “We are very excited about these sessions. It's something that we have been planning for some time and we have got some truly excellent artists performing. Add in a good selection of real ales and some home cooked food, and it will add up to an entertaining weekend”.

The aim is to make the weekend a fairly informal affair. If the weather is kind some of the sessions will take place in the patio area and you may even find music going on inside and out! Anyway, anything can happen, you could find yourself witnessing some truly one-off spontaneous jam sessions.

If you would like any more details, including a rough timetable, or if you would like to take part, you can check out www.mrsyarringtons.me.uk
