Equator invites you to swing and jig at our first Ceilidh Barn Dance. With this energetic folk tradition of group dancing we will be celebrating the enjoyment of dance with a live Ceilidh Band the Catfield Steamers and Caller to teach you the moves. No previous experience needed. The evening will also include traditional Fish and Chips from a local chippy.

Friday June 11th - Equator/ShivaNova  will be taking part in the Folkestone Multicultural Festival with an Indian dance/Bollywood performance with one of ShivaNova's star dancers and school children and adults at 2pm. 

Music classes - we will be offering music classes for children in Indian, African and Latin drumming, singing  and music and in other areas of world music as well. Please email us if you would like your child to join.   

Cookery Courses – We will be starting Indian food cookery courses as well as Thai food cookery courses. This will usually be on weekends and are generally 2- weekly courses where you will learn about the spices used and how to prepare some appetising and popular dishes. There will also be the chance to sample some of these dishes. Please email us back if you are interested as we have a limit to the number of people in the course.

Dance classes – We will also be offering Dance classes in Bollywood, Salsa, Tango, and African dance. These will be either on Friday evenings or on Saturdays. There will also be classes for children run separately.

Ashford Youth Theatre do a fantastic job provide all the lighting at EQUATOR events and have their own event coming up in May.
