Morris Dancing Extravaganza Saturday 25th September in Maidstone!

The Morris Federation AGM and Day of Dance takes place in Maidstone on Saturday 25th September 2010. Hosted by local Side, Kettle Bridge Clogs, this the first time this key event of the Morris calendar has come to Kent. About 20 Morris Sides will be attending.

The event is being opened at 10.30 am by the Worshipful the Mayor of Maidstone, Councillor Eric Hotson in Sessions House Square followed by a display of dancing in the best possible Morris tradition. Afterwards Sides will be touring Maidstone town centre, appearing at prearranged venues until 3.30 pm, including Week Street outside M&S, Gabriels Hill, Market Buildings, the Sun Inn and Drakes Bar, finishing at the Royal Albion. This event is supporting Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, and during performances the dancers and their musicians will be collecting for this charity.
