| PIGNEWS9th February 2011

 Hi folks,
Just a quick reminder that we're playing this coming Sunday, at The Punch
& Judy in Tonbridge. It's an early evening show, so no need to worry
about a late night before a working day! ...And while I'm at it, a few other
  plugs and memory joggers too.

Sunday 13th February, starting at 6:00pm & playing 'til
  about 8:30 or so.
The Punch & Judy, St Stephen's Street, Tonbridge, TN9 2AB
To make up for our cancelled pre-Christmas show (due to car & weather
troubles beyond our control,) we'll be playing a full concert of new songs,
old songs and probably all your piggy favourites. I expect we'll give the
  Christmas carols a miss though!

Saturday 16th April, show starts at 8:00pm.
Cray Folk, The Seven Stars, Foots Cray High Street, Sidcup, Kent, DA14 5HJ
Advanced warning of another up-coming gig we have in our diary. We're
headling a session at this fairly new and very promising venue, and it would
be great to see a few faces we know in the crowd. Check out their website for
other acts performing there in the interim months.

Fri 3rd to Sun 5th June - The
Pigs' Ear Kentish Horse Folk Ale 2011
Just making sure that by now you all have this weekend firmly reserved in
your diaries. Plans are already well advanced for this year's festival and
we're expecting it to be even better than ever. To cram in as much great
music and entertainment as possible we're kicking off a little earlier this
year starting Friday 2:30pm with an Open Mic Session.
 This years headline guests include...
Fri: Strawbs mainman Dave Cusins accompanied by fiddle wizzard Ian
  Cutler.
Sat: Friends of the Folk Ale concert featuring Ron Trueman-Border
  & The Strangers.
Sun: Funniest poet ever and inventor of the chorus monologue, the unique Les
  Barker.
...And plenty more fine music throughout the weekend until it's all over
  at 10:30pm Sunday.
Tickets should be on sale from 1st March.

ALSO... don't forget there's always great live music in The
Punch & Judy, Tonbridge every Tuesday evening (9:00pm to 11pm) and a
little earlier on Sunday evenings (6:00pm to 8:30pm.) Tuesday's are organized
by Keith from Pig's Ear and have a growing reputation for featuring a
splendid variety of truly excellent acts, the only restriction being a
neighbour friendly 'no drum kits' rule. Coming up this month are The
Vultures feat Bob Kenward on 15th Feb, followed by The Sally
  Ironmonger Trio on 22nd Feb.

Keith also organizes live music at The Somerhill, Pembury Road, Tonbridge,
on the third thursday each month, which can often get a little more rocky as
there is no drum kit embargo here! Coming up are classic rock band Stone
Cold Sober on 17th Feb, followed by Folk Ale faves A Band Called Dave
on 17th Mar, and Moveable Feast on 21st April.

That's enough for now, see you
  Sunday...
