Folkways Trivia!
Each month we'll ask a trivia question; email your answer, name, and address with the
subject "March Trivia" to SmithsonianFolkways_at_si_dot_edu by March
31, 2011, and a randomly selected entrant with the correct answer will
win a free CD of his or her choice!
March Question: Before becoming a jazz legend, this saxophonist
first worked as a dishwasher at “Jimmie’s Chicken Shack” so that he could
hear pianist Art Tatum perform. Hint: Both Tatum and this month’s answer
appear on disc 2 of JAZZ: The
Smithsonian Anthology.
Congratulations to last month's winner, Stephanie from Bethesda, Md,
who correctly answered "I’ll Sing a Song and You’ll Sing a
Song" to the question: "What is the name of Ella Jenkins’ most
widely recognized song, which was added to the National Recording
Registry by the Library of Congress in 2007?"
