Attracting Younger People to your Events

Making Music South East has developed the following series of events for practitioners - whether music group organisers, promoters, venues, marketing professionals or amateur musicians hoping to promote concerts.

The following training sessions are being run at cost to ensure maximum accessibility (£15/£10 for members). Places are limited to around 10 for practical workshops and 20 for other sessions, so please book your place as soon as possible.

Introduction to Facebook and Twitter
Saturday 9 April, 1-3.30pm - Reading
Thursday 21 April, 1.30-4pm - Didcot
This is a hands-on workshop in a computer suite, for those who need a helping hand getting started with these websites.
We will help you register your group's profile, and show you how to use these tools to attract people to your group and your events.

Engaging with Social Media
Monday 18 April, 4-6.30pm - Southampton
Wednesday 11 May, 4.30-7pm - Redhill
This is a hands-on workshop in a computer suite. The session is designed for those already comfortable using Facebook, Twitter and similar sites.

What do young people really think?
Monday 11 April, 3.30-5.30pm - Oxford
This is a special event at which students from Oxford Brookes University will present their findings from a recent survey of participation, and answer questions based on this and their own experience.

This popular seminar gives an overview of current approaches to the topic, with a special focus on promoting your group online, including to younger people.
