Subject: Horsham Folk Club - More treats

The Horsham Folk Club programme is available at http://www.horshamfolkclub.co.uk/

Sunday 22nd May Jeff Warner
Songs from the lumber camps, fishing villages and mountains of North America connect 21st century audiences with 19th century Americans.  Jeff grew up listening to the songs and stories of his father, Frank Warner, and the traditional singers his parents met during their folksong collecting trips through rural America. He accompanied his parents on their later field trips and is the editor of his mother’s book, Traditional American Folk Songs.  I enjoyed him enormously at folk festivals last year so can certainly recommend this act. www.jeffwarner.com/
Admission £6 (members £4). Under 18s free.

Sunday 29th May Song & Dance
Songs, tunes and poems from members & guests plus dancing to our excellent ceilidh band.  Beginners and experts alike are welcome and our experienced callers ensure everyone can work their way through the dances with enjoyment.  These events are always great fun and I shall be sorry to miss this one because I shall be at Chippenham Folk Festival.
Admission £2 (members £1). Under 18s free.

Sunday 5th June Steve Ashley
Steve has long been regarded as one of British folk's finest singer-songwriters. Steve has also played a significant role in the development of British folk-rock, performing as a lead singer with the first Albion Country Band, then with his own Ragged Robin and various line-ups of The Steve Ashley Band.  www.steveashley.co.uk/
Admission £6 (members £4) . Under 18s free.

Best wishes
John Byng
