Subject: Accordion teacher or buddy
Hi Penny,
Do you know an accordion teacher or 'buddy' for a beginner who lives in
Sevenoaks.
This person can play the piano, but would like help and guidance to play the
accordion.

Kim awarded Life Membership to the Open Morris - posted: 08.12.2011
Kim Woodward was awarded Life Membership to the Open Morris at its AGM on 27
November 2011, one of only seven awarded since Open Morris first formed 32
years ago.
Kim was recognised for her tireless work in creating, training and most
importantly sustaining new youth Morris sides (teams) within communities in
the South West.
Kim started Ashley's Rise Morris 18 years ago, and has ever since worked in
schools, colleges, youth groups and family resource centres across England
spreading the fun of Traditional English Dance.
In recent years, inspired by the London 2012 she has formed nine new sides as
a part the Dinosaurs Not Allowed projects in Weymouth's London 2012 Maritime
Mix festival. You can see her work at Dinosaurs Not Allowed 2012 Final
Showcase on 8 September 2012 or at www.thegreatcaper.co.uk.

funding
Beyond Borders UK-wide music funding opportunity now open
deadline: 30 January 2012
Following the success of two previous editions, PRS for Music Foundation will
again be teaming up with funding partners Arts Council of Northern Ireland,
Creative Scotland and Arts Council of Wales to run the Beyond Borders UK-wide
funding programme.
Beyond Borders encourages collaboration between commissioning organisations
and music creators to generate new, imaginative works which will be performed
to audiences across the UK. The scheme supports the creation of high quality
new music which is jointly commissioned by at least two (but preferably more)
organisations based in different UK countries. It is now accepting
applications for Beyond Borders funding from music creators, performance
groups and commissioning organisations working together on exciting new
projects.
The scheme has already initiated 15 fantastic collaborations across the UK,
including:
? Award-winning Scottish folk trio Lau worked
with Northern Irish composer Brian Irvine and the Northern Sinfonia to create
'Strange Attractors', commissioned by The Sage Gateshead, Belfast Festival
and Celtic Connections
? English composer Luke Bedford was
commissioned by The Opera Group, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and The
Tramway (Glasgow) to write 'Seven Angels', described by The Daily Telegraph
as 'impeccably crafted'
? Belfast DJ Phil Kieran collaborated with Swansea
psyche-rockers White Noise Sound to create a collection of new songs,
commissioned by Oh Yeah Music Centre (Belfast), Swansea Creative Hub and the
Welsh Music Foundation.
The application process is now open, with a deadline of 30 January 2012.
Interested music creators, performers and organisations can go to

for more information about Beyond Borders, guidelines on eligibility and to

Harrow Council and Harrow Arts Centre are seeking professional,

Professional dance companies/groups will be invited to perform for 20 minutes
