THE BIG BROADSTAIRS
CEILIDH
Everyone enjoys a good
ceilidh and the Sarah Thorne Memorial Theatre is hosting the Big Broadstairs
Ceilidh on Saturday 4th February 2012.
It’s at Hilderstone College and the band will be Kentish favourites The Hot
Rats with Doug Hudson calling the dances.
The Hot Rats are regular favourites at Broadstairs Folk Week and have
travelled the world with their brand of folk/rock that features the fabulous
violin playing of Ian Cutler who starred in the film, The Wicker Man.
You don’t have to be an expert to do ceilidh or barn dancing and the caller
will explain and walk you through the dances. Doug Hudson, who is also the
guitarist and songwriter with the Hot Rats, has called dances in some of the
strangest places, including an event for the Red Army in Russia’s city of
Yaroslavl.
Tickets for the event are £10 from the box office on 0845-2626263.
It starts at 7.45pm and will finish at 10.30pm so families are also welcome.
There is a £2
reduction for Friends of Sarah
