Save Our Local Programming on BBC Radio Kent
As an avid listener and supporter of local programming on BBC Radiio Kent, I would like to personally ask if you would be willing to do something for us and long term, you.......

As you may have heard, the BBC is proposing dramatic cuts to local radio services across England.   If they go ahead here in Kent it could result in Steve Ladner, Roger Day, Geoff Clark, Paul Miller, Dave Cash, Richard Spendlove, Paul Barnes, Sean Rowley, Simon Evans, Bill Rennells, Laura Earl and Pat Marsh and maybe others all being taken off air and replaced by either a regional or national programme.

If this were to happen, our gig information used by presenters may also stand very little chance of being featured on air in the future.
Yes! Radio listeners also attend gigs which help support the rich and varied music talent that Kent has to offer.

Because this would mean such a radical change to all local radio stations, the BBC is obligated to ask listeners what they think of the proposals.  Please visit the link for the consultation and share your views - it only takes a few minutes and could make a real difference.

http://consultations.external.bbc.co.uk/bbc/dqf/consultation/subpage.2011-09-18.8948401403/

The public consultation is only open for a few more weeks before a final decision is taken, so could I please urge you to spread the word amongst colleagues and performers before it's too late.
would prefer to drop them a line their address is

BBC Trust Unit, 180 Great Portland Street, London. W1W 5QZ
The phone number is 03700 103 100 calls are free from most landlines.  Lines are open from Monday to Friday, between 9.30am and 5.30pm.

Again I would emphasise that I have always believed passionately in the valuable service that BBC local radio provides in getting messages such as yours out to individuals and communities across Kent at all hours of the day.

Best wishes.

Rosco Levee - CD CoverRosco Levee
CD EP
Genre: Roots / Country / Blues /Rock

REDAD CDE581

Released: 12th August 2011
CD and Global Digital download

Rosco Levee is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Kent. Having been encouraged to go solo by his old friend and fellow artist, Pete Molinari, Rosco took some time out to write and play on his own.
Whilst traveling the highways and byways of England he honed his Rootsy, Rock ?n' Roll sound but craved for a bigger sound and other musicians to bounce off again. Rosco developed a great band of known Kentish musicians who have taken his music to heart and are now gigging with him regularly on the club and festival circuit.

The band recorded this debut EP "Rosco Levee" at Jim Riley's analogue Ranscombe Studios they are now gearing up for the album.

"Rosco Levee" released 12th August 2011 on iTunes and CD through Red Admiral Records which coincides with their Thanet Folk Week Festival gig at The Barnaby Rudge in Broadstairs.

Press Quotes
It's part rock, it's part blues, it's part gospel, it's part country Americana, it's a big part genius and it is amazingly well crafted in its writing, in its performance and definitely in its recording.????.Lee Charles / Livewire Recordings

You'd have to be dead not to tap your foot to this. Levee's E.P. is a fantastic riot of old school blues and country.???..Stephan Morris / Rockkent.com
