Subject: Grassroots - dates in Hawkhurst cancelled

Sadly, Grassroots will not be at the Eight Bells in Hawkhurst until further notice;  we’ll be working on some new material, though, and aim to have some shows from March onwards around Kent and Sussex

Lots of other music happening in December (see Ricks website _at_ http://www.ricktownend.co.uk/Calendar.htm) – and hope to see you at St Julians on January 5th (weather permitting)

Happy Christmas and New Year

Rick Townend

The next Gun & Spitroast traditional music class is on Wednesday the 14th December.

We'll likely play a couple of tunes from earlier classes to warm up, but the real work of the evening will be to concentrate on a couple of new tunes, which we'll play steadily and slowly, only moving on to the next one when it seems right to do so. We'll also spend some time thinking about how we can tackle the tunes and make them lively, danceable and interesting.

Please note that the fourth Wednesday of December is right in the middle of Christmas - so we're planning not to hold that one. The next class after Wednesday will therefore be on Wednesday the 11th January.

We meet at the Gun & Spitroast pub at Horsmonden at 8pm on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. The classes are free and all are welcome. If this email doesn't really apply to you, please don't throw it away - please pass it to someone who might find it useful!

Download pdfs, abcs and access YouTubes of the tunes we're working with at:

Finally, please come to the Frittenden session on THURSDAY the 29th December -
Peter Collins
is our guest, and he's bringing the wonderful Udimore Bell Ringers.

Gavin
