Paul & Liz both grew up in towns but have family traditions of singing, from rural Yorkshire, the North-East, Norfolk & Southern English travellers. They have made three CDs, 'Under the Leaves' , 'Songbooks' and ‘Spring Tide Rising’. Paul has been editor of the EFDSS magazine English Dance & Song (EDS). They are field collectors & academic researchers & have led ballad sessions at Whitby, Sidmouth, Holmfirth and Warwick Festivals. They have a special expertise in old variants of Child ballads & also in reworking them to suit our days while retaining their human truth & power. You are invited to bring at least one ballad of your choice to sing & talk about, including new songs in ballad style.
