Field Day
London Victoria Park on Saturday 2nd June tickets/info

Everyone's favourite one day festival returns early in 2012 as it moves forward to the Diamond Jubliee Bank Holiday weekend. Topping the bill are the likes of Franz Ferdinand and Metronomy, and also playing are Beirut, Gold Panda, Sbtrkt, Grimes, Tortoise, The Vaccines, Mazzy Star and more. No Direction Home
Nottinghamshire Welbeck Abbey on Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June tickets/info

The team behind End of the Road is launching a new festival! No Direction Home will debut at Welbeck Abbey in the northern reaches of Sherwood Forest. The line-up is as amazing as you'd expect, including Richard Hawley, Django Django, Gruff Rhys, Veronica Falls, Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves Of Destiny, Andrew Bird, Dirty Three, Slow Club, Spectrals, The Low Anthem and more.

Land of Kings
London Various Venues in N16 & E8 on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th May tickets/info

Taking in over 15+ venues including basement clubs, live music spaces and art galleries, plus Dalston's unlikeliest nooks and crannies, Land of Kings again presents the cream of Hackney's creative scenes across cutting edge music, interactive art and unique commissions. The first wave of announcements includes music from Factory Floor, Maria Minerva, The Invisible, Kwes, Trevor Jackson and Connan Mockasin and art/interactive commissions from Hammer & Tongue, Gideon Reeling, Dalston Darlings, Hackney Film Festival and Literary Deathmatch.

Winter Sessions
Chamonix Valley, France on Friday 30th March to Sunday 1st April tickets/info

Winter Sessions Weekender is the boutique snow and music festival in the heart of the French Alps. Chamonix-Mont-Blanc plays home to the two day festival on and off the slopes. Alongside a storming line-up - featuring Norman Jay and Zero 7 - there's also a mountain top stage, ski and snowboard competitions, mountain top bar and barbecue, and loads more to enjoy.

Croissant Neuf Summer Party

Croissant Neuf Summer Party won an award at last year's People and Environment Achievement award making it Britain's undisputed Greenest Festival. The Apple Cart

The Apple Cart is a one day festival catered towards adults and children alike, and presents London with an entirely fresh take on the festival experience: no other event in the capital has award winning cabaret stars, Turner prize winning artists and world class magicians sitting happily alongside top comedians and music legends on the same bill. The line-up includes Noah & The Whale, Stornoway, Adam Ant, Scritti Politti, Gilles Peterson, Billy Bragg, Josh T. Pearson, Rich Hall, Shappi Khorsandi, Josie Long and more.

The Soundwave Festival - Croatia
The Garden, Tisno, Croatia on Thursday 19th to Monday 23rd July tickets/info

One of the best festivals of the last couple of summers returns bigger and better in 2012 - at a new location, at the beatiful Garden in Tisno. The Guardian described the festival as having "all the quirks of a Bestival but in a far more beautiful, and sunny setting". Confirmed acts so far include De La Soul, Fink, DJ Yoda, Plaid, Ghostpoet, DJ Kentaro, Craig Charles, Submotion Orchestra and loads more.

Bearded Theory
Derby Kedleston Hall on Friday 18th to Sunday 20th May tickets/info

Bearded Theory Festival will be celebrating its fifth successful year in 2012 and is one of the fastest growing UK festivals. A record breaking party with beards, bands, arts, crafts, weddings, DJs and general daftness, it's a three day music festival that every year attempts to break the world record for the most amount of people wearing a fancy dress beard in one place and at one time. The line-up includes The Levellers, The Damned, Dreadzone, Terrorvision, Dr Feelgood, Show Of Hands and many more.

Beechstock
High Wycombe Adams Park on Saturday 4th to Monday 6th June tickets/info

Expected to be the biggest music festival in High Wycombe's history, Beechstock 2012 will take over Adams Park - home of Wycombe Wanderes and London Wasps - to entertain 10,000 people across three stages. The headliners are Dodgy, Babybird and Mamas Gun and the rest of the bill features Coloureds and N-Trance's Kelly Llorrena.

I'll Be Your Mirror
London Alexandra Palace on Friday 25th to Sunday 27th May tickets/info

All Tomorrow's Parties' second annual I'll Be Your Mirror festival takes place in May at London's Alexandra Palace, and features headline sets from Slayer (performing Reign In Blood), Mogwai, and a reformed Afghan Whigs. Dirty Three, Sleep, Melvins, Mudhoney, Yuck, Balam Acab and more also play across the three days.

Stop Making Sense
The Garden, Tisno, Croatia on Thursday 2nd to Monday 6th August tickets/info

SMS is an international music festival with an irreverently independent vibe that showcases top quality dance music, live acts and internationally acclaimed DJs both in the sunshine and under the stars. The 2012 line-up brings together the cream of dance music talent for five nights of partying by the sea - acts playing include Lil' Louis, Benja B & Mc Judah, Ron Trent & Chez Damier, Move D, A Skillz, Adrian Sherwood and more.

Wychwood Festival
Cheltenham Racecourse on Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June tickets/info

Now in its 7th year and established as one of the UK's top family events, Wychwood Festival will this year feature the likes of James, Bellowhead, The Damned, Port Isaac's Fishermen's Friends and Duke Special. Other acts on the bill include comedy great Robin Ince and Mr Nice (aka Howard Marks).

Meadowlands Festival
Glynde Place on Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd June tickets/info

Meadowlands Festival is back again for another three day bank holiday extravaganza held in the sumptuous grounds of Glynde Place in Sussex, just a few miles from both Brighton and Lewes. The line-up sees Lamb and Speech Debelle play alongside the likes of This Is The Kit, LTJ Bukem, Hyperpotamus and more. With loads of extras going on - including spoken word and comedy, and a pop-up casino(!) - this looks like being one of the events of the summer.

Electric Elephant
The Garden, Tisno, Croatia on Thurday 12th to Monday 16th July tickets/info

Taking place in the same beautiful Croatian setting that will host Soundwave and Stop Making Sense, Electric Elephant offers the opportunity to get out of this damp and dreary country and experience some great electronica and dance music in a spectacular setting. What better way to warm yourself this spring than being safe in the knowledge that your holiday and festival plans are already sorted? Boat and beach parties aplenty make this one to get yourself along to. Andrew Weatherall heads a top notch line-up.
