Hello Everyone

Thank you all who came to the Roffen last week, unfortunately we were clobbered a bit by the local football, however Wolfpack delivered one of the best 'hard-nosed' blues sets available on the UK circuit today. Unrelenting performance and energy! Here is MC John Cordingley's report:

"What a great night at the Roffen, it was good to see Tim again who has not lost that wonderful energy and bounce jumping around the stage as if he was a 20 year old, he played some great harp and guitar work and of course his singing was very good as well. Some of the audience commented that the band was tighter than last time and the performance was even better. They introduced some new numbers from their new album which we all enjoyed and it gave Joel the lead guitarist the chance to show off his great playing on his Fender Strat and some very nice slide work on his Hofner. Rob on bass was there all the time with those nice bluesy uncomplicated riffs which I particularly like in my band and Paul on drums kept the beat going in fine fashion. I particularly enjoyed two of the numbers, 'Full Time Lover' which had some nice dynamics and 'Robert Johnson?s Shoes' which had that nice RJ delta sound, for those that could not make it you missed a good evening. Please keep coming along to keep the club alive it?s very good value at ?10. For future nights we have in Jerimiah Marques and the Blue Aces in March, John Idan in April, 24 Pesos in May and in June the return of the Producers. Look forward to seeing you all again on 27th March John."

Thank you John and, as ever, to the lovely Sandra and Terry for doing their bit.

So, this month the long awaited return of Jerimiah Marques and the Blue Aces.  Led by a legendary bluesman of note and accompanied by the absolute cream of UK musicians in this genre, the club is in for a real treat!  Googling the name will bring up a wealth of material for preview enjoyment, however, we all know that the best way to enjoy music is live at the Bottleneck Blues Club with it's unrivalled ambience and intimate atmosphere - a joy to audience and artist alike!

This will be busy, so please book asap to the return email address. Tickets ?10, doors open at 7.30pm, band on stage circa 8.45pm, good food, reasonably priced, available at the venue. Further information and location map available at

I normally only take bookings following the early month mail-out preceding the gig, however, am making an exception with the the following, being the exciting double-bill of Geoff Achison and Toby Walker occurring on the 30th October 2012.  We are lucky to have secured this from rare availability over a short period of time when the two UK tours coincide. Tickets will be ?15 each and I am accepting bookings from now on for seats/tables on a first-come, first-served basis.  I am expecting this to sell-out and more so please book early to avoid disappointment.

In the meantime I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 27th March for the wonderful Jerimiah Marques and the Blue Aces.

Many thanks.
