Le Q Records latest masterpiece and commemorative Triple CD -

Le QuecumBar International Gypsy Swing Guitar Festival 2010 LEQ0108

celebrating to 100th Birthday of Django Reinhardt

200 minutes of sublime live highlights - bonus tracks interviews with Stochelo Rosenberg, Tcha Limberger and Biel Ballester.

A triple cd commemorative pack of recordings set over the nine night sold out festival (a first for London), that includes star soloists appearing on stage together for the first time; all passionate representatives of the essence of Gypsy swing.  This pack captures the energy and passion of 34 exceptional musicians; global Gypsy players from 6 countries who united and gathered in London for one reason only, to play homage to the Gypsy guitar genius Django Reinhardt and to honour his 100th birthday.

Press review by Dave Gelly The Observer, Sunday 11 July 2010

"?This triple-CD set contains some truly astounding music. The sheer virtuosity often beggars belief, but it's the inventiveness and creative abandon in the playing of such masters of the genre as Lollo Meier and Sébastien Giniaux, and especially the multi-talented Tcha Limberger, that make these performances truly remarkable. I can't say "unbelievable", because I was there when some were recorded - at London's Le QuecumBar, back in January, at the festival to celebrate Django Reinhardt's centenary - and this was exactly how it came across at the time."

SONGLINES - SIMON BROUGHTON "This was music straight from the soul, played in the perfect setting ? one of London's hidden gems"

JAZZ PREVIEW.COM "This music has deep roots, but in its soulfulness, in the versatility of its imagination and in its sheer exuberance, the ability of Gypsy swing/jazz to charm and seduce audiences remains as powerful as ever. Prepare to be enchanted! "

LONDONNET.CO.UK "the biggest collection of Gypsy Swing talent in the UK ever."

JACOPO MARTINI QUARTET FEAT. ANDY AITCHISON ON VIOLIN

When in 2005 his first album I Nuvoli was published, Jacopo Martini had been immediately compared to Gyspy Jazz giants such as Angelo Debarre or Andreas Oberg. His skill and creativity joined to his Mediterranean native musical colours made him one of the most interesting players on the scene. Andy Aitchison joined Jacopo Martini Quartet in 2008 for a tour through Toscana together with Dutch Gypsy master Lollo Meier. Interplay was explosive on Django's classic tunes! And it will be again at Le QuecumBar.

"Fine Purveyors of Filthy Swing"

TOP SHELF JAZZ Trio

Jazz as it used to be: played fast and louche! Delicious echoes of Al Bowlly, the Ink Spots, Fats Waller and Harlem Swing with a dangerous hint of Gypsy Jazz, old world suave, rakish banter and correspondent shoes.. Arthur Foxaque, "The Caustic Crooner" and notorious dandy, creates an atmosphere harking back to prohibition parties and silver screen romances.

The Baker Boys are headed up with Harry Sankey and Dave Archer(Moscow Drug Club), two top exponents of Gypsy jazz guitar a jewel in the British scene and two of the best swing-style jazz guitarists.  Their matched talents and repertoire give this ensemble an empathy that makes their interplay slide effortlessly by as they play with familiar Hot Club themes and others. Each one capable of formidably dazzling solo runs, fingers leaping around the frets in a blur, all done for the sheer pleasure of making the music, and their knowledge of harmony gives the rhythm playing a richness that demands attention.
