Subject: Horsmonden trad music class Wednesday 25th April

The next Horsmonden traditional music class is on Wednesday the 25th April. The tunes - Paddy Carrey and Jenny Lind - are on the website now.

We'll likely play a couple of tunes from earlier classes to warm up, but the real work of the evening will be to concentrate on the new tunes, which we'll play steadily and slowly, only moving on to the next one when it seems right to do so. We'll also spend some time thinking about how we can tackle the tunes and make them lively, danceable and interesting.

Towards the end of the evening, we may retire to the bar for some rather more informal sessioning!

While you're reading - please don't forget the Jim Causley night at the White Lion, in Tenterden?s High Street on the 27th April 2011, starting at 8pm. It's a 'Jim and friends' evening, and the friends on this occasion are Rosie, Julie and myself.

The Sunday following (the 29th) will be the night of the last regular Frittenden session of the year, and we'll have Fritt favourite Nigel Hobbins guesting at the Bell & Jorrocks - so don't miss that night's fun!

The trad music class meets at the Gun & Spitroast pub at Horsmonden at 8pm on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. The classes are free and all are welcome. If this email doesn't really apply to you, please don't throw it away - please pass it to someone who might find it useful!

Download pdfs, abcs and access YouTubes of the tunes we're working with at:

See you all soon I hope,

Gavin
