Fairport Convention were appearing at Wessex Acoustic Folk Club in their seated acoustic format as part of their Spring Tour for 2012,  however action taken on their behalf, and unknown to them until now, meant Fairport Convention were also booked into the Lighthouse arts centre in Poole for 1st November 2012 and, unfortunately, this concert is being advertised and tickets are on sale already. In a time of recession, people are cautious how they spend their money. The 'big guns' advertising policy of the Lighthouse has killed our ticket sales and we are unable to sell enough tickets for our smaller, more intimate concert to be viable. The band are as disappointed, as we are, but appreciate our problems and have amicably agreed a cancellation of our concert.

Those of you who had already purchased tickets for May 25th will either get your cheques returned or a full refund issued a.s.a.p.

Our humblest apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience caused.

Please continue to support Wessex Acoustic and Fairport Convention.

Don't forget Fairport's own festival at Cropredy in August!

The next gig at Wessex Acoustic is on June 22nd with the delightful duo, Corncrow. More about that nearer the time.
