Hello Everyone
Concert and Ceilidh at Haddenham Saturday June 2nd
You are invited to join us for our Jubilee celebration ceilidh. But besides
the Jubilee, we also have
something else to celebrate. For 40 years, HUGH RIPPON has been our resident
caller and is the major reason Haddenham Ceilidhs have been so successful.
This will be Hugh's last ceilidh as our regular caller. He has decided to
retire!
Well not completely! With persuasion, he has agreed to come back for two more
celebrations. In
December (Our 40th anniversary) and next April (Our 400th ceilidh),
but this June will be the last on a
regular basis.
In the Main Hall, HUGH will ensure a smooth and enjoyable evening. You can
dance the evening away to the wonderful, jazzy danceable music of STEAMCHICKEN.
The HAMMERSMITH MORRIS MEN, a side that HUGH formed well over 40 years
ago are our dance display side for the evening.
In the Walter Rose Room, our concert venue, you can listen to MARTIN
CARTHY, another stalwart of the folk scene, who I first saw in 1964. A
fantastic singer and guitarist and a legend in his own right. No wonder he is
called the Guv'nor.
Admission to the venue, only ?10, lets you dance or enjoy the concert or
perhaps a bit of both! Just email or telephone by return and tickets will be
held for you on the door.
