FORTHCOMING GUESTS:

JULY 3RD ? GIGSPANNER
(http://www.gigspanner.com/)

Led by Steelye Span?s legendary fiddle player Peter Knight, the trio Gigspanner have been critically acclaimed for both their live playing and recordings since first coming together in 2008. Peter?s virtuosity is ably matched by the sensitive and flawless playing of Roger Flack (guitar) and Vincent Salzfaas (percussion). Together their music is wide ranging, drawing from a variety of cultural influences as well as traditional folk and their improvisation gives a freshness and immediacy to their act.

JULY 10TH ? GEORGE PAPAVGERIS & HIS LOS MARBLES
(http://www.folk4all.net/Biog.htm & http://www.folk4all.net/LosMarbles.htm / http://www.smallpiper.co.uk/)

Singer songwriter George Papavgeris and his Los Marbles (multi instrumentalists Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer) are all well known and well liked at Dartford. However, although they have been collaborating (on recordings and tours) since 2009, this will be the first time that we have been fortunate enough to see them performing together. George is one of the most highly regarded songwriters around and Vicki and Jonny are thought by many to be of the best young duos on the folk scene today.

JULY 17TH ? HUNTER MUSKETT
(http://www.huntermuskett.com/)

Hunter Muskett first came together at Avery Hill College in 1969, where they were all trainee teachers and for a few years were one of the cult bands on the folk scene. Now, after more than 35 years, they are back together for the occasional tour and have been busy rehearsing both old and new material. We very much enjoyed their visit to the Club last year ? the old spark still seems to be there!

JULY 24TH ? SPIDER JOHN KOERNER & ?CHIP? TAYLOR SMITH (USA)

Now in his 70?s, Spider John Koerner has been variously described as a traditional American folk and country blues musician, rhythmic guitarist, song-crafter, singer and living legend. He has worked with and influenced many great musicians including Bob Dylan and Martin Simpson, to name but two. Tonight, he will be joined by ?Chip? Taylor Smith (fiddle and guitar), his playing partner of more than 30 years.

JULY 31ST ? PAUL DOWNES
(http://www.pauldownes.com/)

Paul Downes is one of the most respected artists on the British acoustic music scene today and is a firm favourite at Dartford. Paul has a rich musical background and plays the acoustic guitar effortlessly, but considers himself as a singer of songs, rather than a guitar technician. Over the years he has worked with Phil Beer, The Arizona Smoke Revue, Pete Seeger and, more recently, Mick Ryan. Someone not to miss!
