This monthly circular comes slightly early so that we can draw attention to
the important change for tomorrow?s (Thurs 28th June) programme
June 28th * Free Admission * OPEN NIGHT
We have been informed by Jim Causley?s father that he is ?not very well at
all? and that he will not be performing in the near future, so his advertised
appearance for us will not be taking place. We have no more details at the
moment but we wish Jim a swift recovery and will be offering him a replacement
date as soon as possible.
July 5th * £7.00 * SHIRLEY COLLINS? BIRTHDAY PARTY Now here is something
really special! Shirley will be presenting a shortened version of her latest
multi-media show ?You Never Heard So Sweet? in the first half and introducing
friends who include some of the best known names on the folk scene in the
second half. We were hoping that these names would be a surprise but somehow
the cat has got out of the bag so we had better admit that the second half
will feature IAN KEAREY & DAN QUINN (from Duck Soup) * NAOMI BEDFORD & PAUL
SIMMONDS * RATTLE ON THE STOVEPIPE * MARTYN WYNDHAM-READ & IRIS BISHOP * THE
COPPER FAMILY. Not bad for a folk club night!
July 12th * £7.00 * HECTOR GILCHRIST
Hector Gilchrist sings in a sensitive and easy style that does justice to his
great voice accompanied by thoughtful guitar work. His first appearance for
us.
July 19th * £7.00 * JIM & LYNETTE ELDON
A very welcome return for the Brid fiddler and his clog-dancing champion wife.
Jim & Lynette?s straightforward performances are a delight.
July 26th * free admission * GRAND END-OF-SEASON OPEN NIGHT Well, we?ve done
it! Yet another 11 month season of the best that can be offered week after
week. Come & help us celebrate.
