We are deep in brochure production here at Festival House and it's shaping up to be a fantastic year! The full programme will be announced in July so there is not long to wait now.

We had some exciting news last month that our application to the Arts Council has been successful meaning that something special will be happening in 2013 and 2014; watch this space for the latest news.

Finally, we've heard about some great events coming up this month including an afternoon organised by our Festival Friends Committee and open to all at the glorious Doddington Gardens - we'd love to see you there!

To help improve fundraising capacity

And bring an exciting new venue to Canterbury

Arts Council England have recently announced the 173 successful applicants to their ?30 million Catalyst Arts: capacity building and match funding scheme. Canterbury Festival are delighted to be one of them and will receive ?187,000 over the next three years on the condition that we find match funding of the same amount. This money, and the money that we raise, will enable us to develop our fundraising abilities, increase our artistic offering and help to bring a new Festival venue to Canterbury in 2013 and 2014. Notes from the Past & the USO Dance Party

Sunday 17 June 2012

The Urban Soul Orchestra will be performing at two events at the Faversham Festival. The first will showcase music written at the time of key events in Faversham's history, connecting the colourful characters and moments of Faversham's past to memorable musical pieces (expect an eclectic mix of Baroque-to Bar-rock, Classical to The Clash and Folk-lore to Film-score). Then in the evening, the party really starts with the USO Dance Party featuring VJ Marc Chazot and DJ Jack Dedman.
