Subject: Thanks to all who came along to sing or watch in Blean

Dear Musical mates

just saying thank you is such an inadequate phrase when it comes to relaying to you what I want to say - so to everyone who supported us with your time, talent, music and stamina last night for our 3rd annual music festival here in Blean village, mega mega thanks.

What an evening and night to remember - for the music, performances atmosphere, opportunites to catch us and make warm friendships - hope the evening sustained all those who were freezing cold outside - can't arrange the weather so congratulations on your stamina, endurance and for bringing blankets enabling you to remain outside to perform or watch the acts, despite the cold wind, blazing June it was not!

Special thanks firstly to Andy who gave up his whole day to install and manage the PA, firstly for the fete and then the music festival - without his devotion to the task it wouldn't have run half so smoothly if the PA needed to be adapted or reset inbetween concert slots.  Andy I hope you managed a well deserved day of rest today have warmed up, this honourable man gave up the offer of a ticket to see Bob Dylan at the Hop Farm to help us out .....

Equal thanks to Brendan for his guest appearance as his presence certainly had an impact and increased our audience numbers and interest - brilliant playing as ever - we hope you may be able to come back next year for our 4th festival, if you do we'll definitely need to import more chairs...

To everyone else - Maggie and Dave for running the cosy and well supported singaround, for all the performers and audience please let me  know if you think changes need to be made to the music side of the festival - we probably need lights on the stage - should we move the concert stage into the main hall next year without the PA to prevent hypothermia for all - it's so difficult to judge as the weather is unpredictable and an outside event is just more atmospheric under summer conditions - all suggestions welcome for consideration.

New young faces were encouraging to see the future is exciting - hope you enjoyed the event as much as the village community, food team and volunteeers who help.  The whole day's fete/music festival event raised £3022.81 profit to date towards out Raise the Roof project with so many thanks, in part,  to your support and generosity.

Will see you all sometime soon - keep warm and enjoy the rest of the "summer"!
