Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS).
The series begins with the launch of America singer songwriter Caroline

beautiful and dark sides of life in the US South including those forgotten
people in Appalachia and the deep South.

Hield, an acclaimed artist in her own right, will be joined by her stellar
backing band of partner Jon Boden (Bellowhead), Andy Cutting, Sam

the very best acoustic musicians on the circuit.

EFDSS Artist
Development and Programming Manager Neil Pearson said: ?This series offers
a wide and varied programme of events, including many one-off shows such as
Nic Jones? first ?indoor? gig in 30 years, the album launch by Caroline
Herring and celebrating 15 years of Nancy Kerr and James Fagan?s contribution
to the industry.
?It offers something for everyone and we are pleased that so many prestigious
folk artists have chosen Cecil Sharp House as the place to perform in the
capital.?
Jo Frost, Editor of Songlines,
which is the media partner for the 2012 concert series, said: ?This is
undoubtedly one of the most comprehensive line-ups in the recent history of
Cecil Sharp House and is sure to delight fans of folk, acoustic and roots
music.
?It also seems fitting that so many of these one off performances should be
held at home of English folk music.?
