Zaza Music and Lewes Guitar Festival presents

  Summer Hoedown
Saturday 4th August _at_ Grange Gardens, Lewes

Featuring.: Monster Ceilidh Band, Old Man Luedecke, Amy Harrison & the
  Secondhand Stringband & more

  Tickets are ?12 adult, ?6 under 18.
Available in Lewes from Union Music, Lewes Tourist Information, in Brighton
at Resident Records, online at zazamusic.co.uk.

  Celebrating the
English summer with English and American roots music and dancing, the
inaugural Summer Hoedown takes place in Lewes?s beautiful Grange Gardens on
Saturday 4 August. Featuring an upbeat line-up of folk and Americana, a
pop-up pub, good food and finishing with an outdoors barn dance, gates open
3pm and the event runs through 'til 10.30pm. Following on from the sell-out
Lewes Barn Dance series held regularly in Lewes Town Hall, this will be a fun
all-ages party held outdoors, run by the Lewes Guitar Festival and Zaza Music
  team.

Headlining are the Monster Ceilidh Band, blazing their way through
traditional and modern tunes underpinned by dub-heavy electric bass. They?ve
entertained generations new and old all over the world, from the fields of
Glastonbury to 8000 people at the Rainforest World Music Festival in Borneo,
with their cross-genre ceilidh music. With caller Gill Emerson.

Old Man Luedecke is one of Canada?s best loved and most intriguing
roots singer-songwriters. ?An original, he is a musical singularity to be
savoured and shared?, says the Vancouver Folk Festival. His memorable
melodies, poetic sense and easy charisma appeal to anyone searching for new
  growth from old roots.

Amy Harrison & the Secondhand Stringband play bluegrass and are
from Brighton, with an extensive repertoire stretching over 80 years, from
Charlie Poole?s ?Leaving Home? in the 20s to Gillian Welch?s ?Wayside Back In
Time? from a few years ago and all points inbetween.
