And also from Musically Monstrous:

Rescheduled The Whitetop Mountain Band on Sunday 16th September 2012
The band has had to make some changes to their tour as certain dates haven’t worked out as expected. The date of Saturday 22nd has been brought forward to Sunday 16th.

Cancelled Cajun Company on Saturday 20th October 2012

Unfortunately the band has lost their fiddler due to the pressures of work and is no longer able to continue as Cajun Company. They are very sad to have come to the end of a musical collaboration which has lasted for 20 years and are also very disappointed that they will not be able make the trip from Holland to come and play for you.

Didmarton news from John Wirtz:

The band line up for Didmarton 2012 is now posted on the website and we have added a provisional programme in the concerts section. Please note this is provisional and subject to change.

The festival take place 30th August to 2nd September, 2012 at Kemble Airfield near Cirencester, Gloucestershire. All information on the website www.didmarton-bluegrass.co.uk

As usual, there is a fantastic line up again and some new faces coming along to play the festival for the first time.

Besides the normal Bluegrass and Old Time programme, there a great choice of music coming our way at the end of August. Forty Five bands and still one or two slots to fill in!

So it going to be great even if it rains (is that a disclaimer of sorts?). Don’t worry, bring a brolly with you!

For some years, Neil White (ex-Old Time News editor) has been hosting mainly Old Time concerts at his local, the Crabshell in Kingsbridge, South Devon. Now, thanks to the generosity of his previous guests, he has been able to release a cd sampler.

So, titled simply 'The Crabshell COncerts 2005-2012' it features an hour of music from the tradition, donated by each of the acts that have featured in the 29 concert series. They are some of the most admired and respected players from both sides of the Atlantic who, amongst them, have sold out the Albert Hall; achieved championship honours; broken audience records; starred on TV, film and radio and won accolades galore. Superb performers at the top of their powers, everyone one has earned worldwide acclaim.

The cd is on sale from the Crabshell Inn or from Crabshell Records, 2 Clipper Quay, Embankment Road, Kingsbridge, TQ7 1SJ at £10 in person or £12 with p&p (£14.50 abroad), sterling cheques payable to Crabshell Records.
Any profits from the sales are entirely dedicated to promoting live, professional music of the tradition in and around Kingsbridge.
Featuring tracks from the Orpheus Supertones; Jeff Davis with Brian Peters; Bayou Seco; Ira Bernstein and Riley Baugus; The Carrivick Sisters; Jeff Warner; Beverly Smith and Carl Jones; the Albemarle Ramblers; Simon Mayor and Hilary James; Debby McClatchy; Phil Beer; Julie Felix; Pete Coe; Kate Lissauer; Sid Kipper; Sara Grey; Tom, Brad and Alice

The Hanbury Old Time Music & Dance weekend will be at the Cock Inn, a small country pub with a field. It is in a village called Hanbury near Burton on Trent which is in lovely countryside and fairly close to Derbyshire and the Peak District.

The pub food is excellent and the landlord is prepared to do breakfast, lunch, dinner and barbecues if we wish.

We have the use of a large function room in which to play and the pub has a beer garden with children’s area and French boules and outdoor bowling.
