Subject: Free Folk Festival on Bank Holiday Monday - reminder!

It's the last long weekend of the year, and we do extol that Two For Joy are presenting the best and only alternative to that significant event that might well be happening in West London over the weekend. If you tire of or want to avoid pounding the crowded streets of West London, head to the Old Queen's Head in Islington and revel in the fine selection of Folk and Acoustic acts we've drafted in from across town, across the Country and from across the World.

If, however, you do choose to go to West London (only for a bit, and then to our Festival for the evening), then be sure to check out our friends Solution Sound, who have taken on Jah Observers spot. This is their first year at Carnival, and we wish them much fun and good vibes.

Lastly, we've added another fav band to Monday's Line Up (and shuffled the timings around a bit). We are chuffed to be joined by yoB! Also, playing a late set, we welcome back DJ Cal Jader playing the best in modern and classic Latin Remix. Bam!

PS. Old Man Luedecke is a totally massive name in Canada and on the Folk Scene here and is a totally awesome headliner to have at a free gig. We pulled some strings and he heard how fun these gigs are, so you gotta come and check it out. Oh, and he's not actually an old man.

info

The fifth Two For Joy Bank Holiday Folk Festival at the Old Queen's Head. 11 bands take over the entire pub with stages upstairs and down, showcasing the hottest emerging talent from the UK and International folk scene. Heaps of local bands and bands from all over the country and world converge for a jam packed folk out.

We are using a new model for the show. We are making it FREE ENTRY! We get a small percentage from the bar to cover basic costs for our musicians travel, food and our production. Then it is up to you, THE AUDIENCE, to pay the bands. After every set our helpers will pass the hat, and we implore you to give generously and reward our hard working musicians. A quid per person per band will send our musicians home with a good living wage and a smile on their faces. Change available at the door.

Totally authentic and much cherised old time string band music from the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. The Real Deal. The daughter of this family band and her friend joined us at Bestival last year and absolutely tore the place apart with firery flatfoot dance and some rippin' banjo and fiddle tunes. It's great to have the whole family over for the whole show. See you there.

This is a co-promotion with our West London buddies The Willesden Folk Union.

The Water Tower Bucket Boys
The Harrison, Kings Cross.
