SingFest is a festival where you make the music. Sing in glorious harmony with 5 highly acclaimed singing workshop tutors. You don?t need to have any singing experience, no need to read the dots or be part of a choir. All ages and abilities are invited to raise their voices at our friendly, relaxed singing festival.

This year?s tutors...

Juliet Russell of Vocal Explosion is a composer & vocal facilitator specialising in world music, including repertoire from the deep south & traditional gospel. Juliet has worked for over 15 years as an international practitioner specialising in the voice. Her work has been heard and sung by over 40,000 people in over 30 countries and her powerful voice has been described as 'brilliantly haunting' by The Guardian. <www.vocalexplosion.co.uk>

Chris Rowbury runs regular singing groups and community choirs as well as working as a freelance workshop leader and performer. His speciality is unaccompanied harmony singing from traditional cultures across the globe, especially Africa and Eastern Europe. He will have you producing gorgeous harmonies in a matter of minutes! <www.chrisrowbury.com>

Katie Roberts re-established Brighton Vox Community Choir in September 2009 and started Lewes Vox in 2011. Katie also leads workshops at Evolution Arts <http://www.evolutionarts.org.uk/singing>  in Brighton, has led choirs at SingFest and runs children?s choirs in Brighton & Hove called Small Voices <http://brightonvox.wordpress.com/little-voices/>

Lauren McCormick is an experienced teacher and workshop leader. She has studied with singers such as Sandra Kerr, Chris Coe, John Kirkpatrick, Joy Nicol and Carolyn Robson of The Voices Foundation. Lauren has performed at festivals including Glastonbury, Towersey Village Festival, Brampton Live and Sidmouth International Festival <www.laurenmccormick.co.uk>

Anna Tabbush is a singer, composer, and conductor and SingFest festival director. She has taught on the past five SingFests and is back this year to warm-up our voices each morning. Mike Simpson, Musical Director of world music workshop company Inspire-works, will be running this year's Carnival Rhythms workshop. After graduating from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 1999 where he studied percussion, African drumming, conducting and composition, he spent an intensive year studying gamelan in Bali with Tjokorda Raka Suastika of Ubud Royal family. Since graduating from her degree in Ceramics at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, she has run family pottery and youth craft workshops on subjects such as Monster Puppets, Shadow Puppets, Peg Dollies and Bugs and Butterfly Mobiles. During the summer she leads workshops in craft for 12 to 25 year olds through Shooting Roots at folk festivals where they create large beasts and props for the theatre workshop?s performance.
