The 20th Tenterden Folk Festival

Thursday 4th to Sunday 7th October 2012


Tickets are now on sale!
 
Since putting details of the guests we have already booked on our website we have started receiving enquiries about tickets for the festival, so we have pulled out the stops to get the full weekend tickets and Thursday evening concert tickets on sale.
 
GUESTS SO FAR:
This year's guest list seems to naturally fall into several categories including guests from the USA, guests from the West County, Shanty and sea song singers, local and regular guests, first time visitors to Tenterden, Showcase guests, etc. 
 
So far the list is as follows but more will be added as funding is confirmed.
The Acoustic Strawbs (Thurday evening concert)
Brian Peters, The Climax Ceilidh Band with caller Nick Walden, Jeff Warner (USA), Jim Causley, Jody Kruskal (USA), The Keelers (Jim Magean, Peter Wood, George Unthank & Alan Fitztsimmons), Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham, Nic Dow, Pete Castle, Rude Albert, Sara Grey (USA), Steve Turner, Swinging The Lead (Peter Booker, Brian Withstandley, Steve Skey, Lee Leatham & Dave Webb), Tom and Barbara Brown, Plus more to be confirmed.

Marquee showcase guests include:
Bedlam Boys, Frankie the Gambler, Green Diesel, Sally Ironmonger, Simon Stanley-Ward and others still to confirm.
 
And the hard working regular guests who we cannot do this without including:
Adrian O, Bo Foaks, Bob Kenward, Chris Roche, John Barden, John and Karen Sweeney, Malcolm Ward, The Marsh Warblers, Peter Collins, Roger Resch, Spare Parts Concertina Band, Steve O'Kane and Fiona McBain, Sue Watson, Travelling Folk and Vic and Tina Smith

Some of the above are still subject to contract.  Not all guests are there for the whole weekend 
 
Dance sides and display teams confirmed:
We have set a limit of 60 teams this year so please contact us as soon as possible if your dance side, display team, etc. would like to an invitation. 
Those already confirmed include Hunters Moon Morris, Kits Koty Morris, Knockhundred Shuttles, Loose Women, MacLennan Scottish Group, Marling Morris, Men of Wight Morris, Morena Slovak Dancer Company, Oojah Kappivvy, Redbournestoke Morris, Tanglefoot Appalachian, USO Dancers, Woodchurch Morris Men, Wicket Belly Morris, Wicked Brood Morris
 
FULL WEEKEND TICKET: These tickets admit the holders to all events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but do not include the Thursday evening concert which is available separately.  The cost of these tickets before 1st September is adults £34.00 (under 16s £17.00).  Prices increase from 1st September to adults £43.00 (under 16s £22.00). 
 
THURSDAY EVENING CONCERT:The tickets for this special fundraising concert featuring The Acoustic Strawbs, supported by Steve O'Kane and Fiona McBane plus another festival guest, are also available.  Thursday evening concert tickets are all £14.00 each

CAMPING: The basic town centre campsite will again be available from Thursday afternoon to Monday morning.  Camping costs are Caravan/campervan (for up to four nights) £20.00 or Tent (for up to four nights) £18.00.

LANYARDS: High quality green TFF lanyards with plastic ticket wallets for tickets cost £3.00 each.

SINGLE EVENT TICKETS: Other single event tickets will be available nearer the time.

HOW TO ORDER YOUR TICKETS:

  • Order tickets by post directly from us.  A booking form can be downloaded on our website and will be published in several folk magazines in due course.|
  • You will shortly be able to order on line from www.wegottickets.com
  • Nearer the date of the festival you will also be able to buy your tickets from Right Track Music Shop in Ashford, Ashford Gateway Plus and Tenterden Gateway.


Other booking:
To get your dance side or display team invited to the festival, book your craft fair, street stall or music fayre pitch, book an advert in the programme, buy your tickets, volunteer as a steward or marshal, make a donation or to get otherwise involved in the festival contact us NOW.
