DYLAN MONDEGREEN - Dylan Mondegreen (Folkwit/Division Records Divrec CD026)

Cast your minds back to those days (around the early 70's for me) when everything was right with the world and you used to look forward to a sunny Sunday afternoon canoodling with your girlfriend in the local park. Well, those days can be recreated if you listen to this sumptuous recording and (I know it sounds inconceivable in this day and age) just chill out. BBC Radio 2 would be well served with the likes of this recording and I and my partner Glenys soaked it up like two octogenarians reminiscing whilst watching a movie featuring Doris Day and Rock Hudson. Hopefully you're now in the right mood for the songs of Norwegian Borge Sildnes aka Dylan Mondegreen. Reminiscent in many ways of those recordings made by the likes of Cifford T Ward and Al Stewart the tracks featured here will bring a feeling of tranquillity and wash over you with its lush orchestration and gently cooed words. I may sound as if I'm going a bit soft but if you're as bruised by the battles of every day living?as most of us are?then this album could help alleviate some of those problems. Sit back, relax and enjoy with a nice cup of Horlicks?Highly recommended. www.dylanmondegreen.com
