APPLAUSE RURAL TOURING

Seckou Keita Trio

Saturday 8 September 8:00pm

Respecting a musical tradition that stretches back to the 13th Century and the Mandinka Empire of West Africa, Seckou is an established contemporary master of the Kora, the 21 stringed African harp. With his feet firmly rooted in the 21st Century and the identity of his heritage clear, Seckou is keen to experiment and develop fresh ideas. He releases a new album, Miro, in September and this one off gig featuring Seckou?s trio is an exclusive for Applause

Hunton Village Hall, Maidstone, ME15 0RR
- Bookings: 01622 820683

Dear All,

Following a terrific Applause Outdoors summer programme which featured 90 contemporary outdoor performances in community events in Kent and East Sussex, we return to an exciting season of indoor performances.

And what a great line up we have for you! From hot jazz to classical busking, the Brothers Grimm to Charles Dickens, musical ?olympics?, Italian style street theatre and even the old lady who swallowed a fly!

Many thanks to all our volunteer promoters and their helpers who make it possible for us to deliver these performances in local and rural communities. Not only do they make a valuable contribution to community life, they provide work for the professional artists and support for the local economy.

Enjoy browsing through the events in our What?s On section or download our season brochure from the Audiences page and decide which performances you?d like to see this autumn.

Kind Regards
