FORTHCOMING GUESTS:

MAY 7TH – BRUCE MOLSKY (USA)

In 1995, Bruce Molsky took a year off from his job to see if he could make a career as a musician. Today, he is one of the greatest virtuosos among old-time fiddlers. He performs with the likes of Donal Lunny, Andy Irvine and Aly Bain and was featured on TV in Transatlantic Sessions 3 and 5. Bruce shows deep emotion in his singing and brings a mixture of virtuosity and humility to his stage performances in a way that captivates audiences. His first ever visit to Dartford and one not to be missed!

MAY 14TH – JEANA LESLIE & SIOBHAN MILLER with AARON JONES
(http://www.jeanaleslie-siobhanmiller.co.uk/ & http://www.oldblinddogs.co.uk/artist-biog.asp?artistID=2)

Jeana Leslie (fiddles, piano, vocals) and Siobhan Miller (vocals, dance) came together as a duo in 2008 and within 12 months were named winners of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award. They are talented singers and musicians with fine voices that blend beautifully. Their performances focus strongly on communicating through traditional, contemporary and self-penned song. Aaron Jones, instrumentalist of the year at the Scots Trad Music Awards 2005, is a highly regarded accompanist.

MAY 21ST – PAUL DOWNES & MICK RYAN
(http://www.pauldownes.com/index.html & http://www.mickryanfolkshows.co.uk/)

Paul Downes is a favourite at Dartford and is well remembered as one half of Downes and Beer. He plays the guitar effortlessly, but sees himself more as a singer of songs. Mick Ryan is known as a fine singer of traditional and original songs. He has written a series of highly successful folk operas (with casts that include Paul and himself), among them ‘The Navvy’s Wife’ and 'The Pauper’s Path’. The last visit to Dartford by this duo of folk stalwarts proved to be an excellent night’s entertainment.

MAY 28TH – KIERAN GOSS
(http://www.kierangoss.com/)

Kieran Goss is one of Northern Ireland’s leading singer songwriters. He began gigging as a law student at Belfast University and this led to support slots for the likes of Christy Moore and Elvis Costello. A successful album followed and Mary Black soon covered two of his songs. However, it is live on stage where he really shines with an “amazing ability to reach out and connect with an audience”.
