Phil Beer on BBC Radio 2

On 10th May, at the Hackney Empire at around 12 noon, Phil Beer will be talking to Bob Harris about his fiddle playing. Bob will also be talking to Cynthia Fleming, the leader of the BBC concert orchestra, about her approach to playing classical-style violin, exploring how musicians in different genres approach the same instrument. Both musicians will play to illustrate the conversation, as well as a duet together.

This will broadcast live on the Jeremy Vine show, as part of the BBC Radio 2 2Day event celebrating the range of output and music on the network.

2 day residential retreats

Once again Steve and Phil invite you to the unique and romantic settings of Herstmonceux Castle in Sussex
and Portmeirion village in North Wales.
These two day, all-inclusive residential retreats will feature informal concerts and workshops,
plus fine food and conversation. Both events are essentially non-participatory, but those that wish to
perform will find the opportunity to play at the late night singarounds in the bar.
