Hello

To let you know about a couple of shows coming up shortly, the first being somewhat different

for a spyboy show, but I think we need to laugh every now and again!

Virginia Ironside - Growing Old Disgracefully

Saturday 15th February at 7.30pm

Under Ground Theatre Eastbourne

(Beneath Central Library)

Welcome to the Blue Rinse Mountains of Virginia; a hilarious journey through the joys of being

a sexagenarian.

According to this doyenne of Fleet Street; unlimited free drugs, fun funerals, grandchildren and sex,

or even better no sex, are just a few of the reasons that your sixties are the best and funniest time of your life.

Alongside a series of witty observations celebrating life at sixty-plus,  Virginia Ironside also provides fascinating snippets from her younger life, including interviewing the Beatles and writing a rock music column for The Daily Mail..

Directed by Nigel Planer, who played the part of Neil, in the cult BBC comedy - The Young Ones

Seats: ?16.50 - in advance from 01323 841414.

Slim Chance play the music of Ronnie Lane

Saturday 22nd February at 7.30pm

 Hailsham Pavilion

Ronnie Lane was a born entertainer, humorous, emotional and spiritual, a troubadour to the day he died.

As part of the Small Faces, Ronnie and Steve Marriott formed a song-writing partnership that has been compared to Lennon & McCartney...there were such classics as All Or Nothing, Itchycoo Park and Lazy Sunday.

Eventually Marriott went to Humble Pie, whilst Ronnie formed The Faces, one of the greatest rock & roll bands of all time, but he was soon to turn his back on the jet-set glamour in order to take his music back to the people.

Whilst the Faces cruised from hotels to concert halls in limousines, Ronnie with his new band  Slim Chance snailed around Britain in a raggle-taggle convoy of caravans, with a big top circus tent, jugglers and a troupe of Can-Can dancers!

"The Passing Show" was born, and original members Steve Simpson, Charlie Hart, Steve Bingham, Alun Davies, Geraint Watkins and Colin Davey, come to the Pavilion to resurrect this period of Ronnie's life, along with our own troupe of Can Can dancers (The Pretty Little Horsebreakers)
