One Way Ticket
Saturday 22nd March

3pm, ?5/?3(ADV)

Line up, line up for your one way ticket,

One way ticket to a story that's hard to believe

Of children like you, sent sailing into the blue.

Line up for your one way ticket, time now to leave?.

Have you ever felt like you wanted to run away, far away where no one can find you? Be careful what you wish for?

Half Moon presents a Rosemary Harris poetry theatre production in association with Apples and Snakes & Nuffield, for 8-12 year olds.

A powerful, poetic true story of stolen childhood.

Drawing on real-life stories, One Way Ticket is a gripping show presented by three poetry performers which is both funny and moving. Follow Jeannie, Ronnie and other children of the 1950s as they are sent by ship from children's homes in the UK to?tough new lives on the other side of the world.

One Way Ticket offers a dramatic insight into the British Child Migrants' scandal in the years following World War II, and the children's continued search to be re-united with families today. A beautifully written account of belonging, institutionalised brutality and migration, the show is a thought-provoking and original new work that resonates with contemporary young audiences.

Not suitable for under 8s.

One Way Ticket is written and performed by Rosemary Harris with Justin Coe and Sophie Rose.

This production is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
