FRIDAY 11th APRIL

THE FRASER SISTERS - JO FREYA and  FI  FRASER

Jo Freya (born Jo Fraser) usually heard in bands such as Blowzabella and Old Swan Band, loves to perform with her sister Fi Fraser who plays fiddle and clarinet - Jo is on saxes, clarinets, whistles, and piano. Their playing brings freshness to many dance rhythms and their singing has that wonderful texture that you only get when siblings sing together. They have a wonderful range of diverse material, singing anything from Tom Waits to a traditional ballad or comic song.

Hear their CD  'Going Around'.        http://thealbionchronicles2.tripod.com/id12.html

Roger goes back to Flowers and Frolics in the mid 1970s; Liz, a generation younger, plays in the English String Band. On their first CD together they bring their passion, talent and distinctive   accuracy to tunes from Ireland, Scotland, Australia and Newfoundland as well as England all presented with drive and lively excitement. Guest artist is Bob Davenport, one of the country's most respected traditional  singers, now in his 82nd year. This CD will delight lovers of real traditional music.

"This music is inspired by traditional players, it shines like a lovingly polished old wooden chair which remains fit for purpose through the centuries. No flash, no fancy arrangements, simply lovely musical playing which inspires you to dance or just sit and enjoy." Peta Webb
