Manouche Jazz and songs a must see concert by a talented virtuoso musicians KAMAO Quintet The Kamao Quintet take their inspiration from traditional Manouche and Romani (Gypsy) music, as well as from the legacy of the wonderful Django Reinhardt, found in the thriving contemporary European manouche jazz scene. They use violin, Gypsy guitars, cello and double bass to create a beautiful and rich sound that complements the voice of Jean de Talhouet with haunting and lyrical harmonies. From the saddest Gypsy ballads, to the liveliest waltzes and drinking songs, and original music, the guitars growl and purr warmly beneath dazzling and melodic instrumental improvisations. A particularly beautiful and moving form of music, but with the driving force of swing, and a great jazz feel.
