Hello

It was good having Eliza & Martin Carthy with us at the Hailsham Pavilion on Saturday

and thanks to all of you who came out to see the show.

We are mow getting close to the end of our season and entering our Blue(s) Period!

Paul Jones brings The Blues Band to St Mary in the Castle, Hastings on Thursday 29th May,

(details at www.spyboy.co.uk), but before that we are getting ready to welcome a very special guest from the USA, for one of the great bluesmen, Guy Davis is set to play a show for us

7.30pm - Upstairs at the Lamb, Eastbourne on Saturday 17th May.

Guy, who is in the UK just for a few days, was born in 1952 and grew up in Harlem, New York - his influences include Blind Willie McTell, Skip James, Mississippi John Hurt and Buddy Guy

Over the years he has been nominated for nine Blues Foundation awards, and again this year he is up for two more, "Best Acoustic Bluesman" and for the "Best Acoustic Blues Album".......so you might think he is worth checking out!

Opening for Guy are a couple of local favourites, Alex Butler and Jane Chloe Pearce who shared the stage with Paul Jones and Dave Kelly at the Pavilion earlier in the year.

Tickets might be scarce on the night (if available - ?17.50) but if you pre-order before Thursday 15th May and ONLY via info_at_spyboy_dot_co_dot_uk ....then subject to availability - we will reserve them for you at the cost of ?15.00 ready for collection on the night.

And......if you are in Eastbourne's Old Town earlier on Saturday (appx 2.00pm), Guy Davis,

will be playing in-store at The Vinyl Frontier in Crown Street (appx 100yds from the Lamb).
