Friends,
thanks to all who came and supported last Sunday's Gypsyology Culture
Day. I think all participants will agree with me on what a special day
we had :-) I will share pix and videos soon...

24th May, from 7.30 - LGO
Music Social at the Gallery Cafe, Bethnal
Green
As you remember, my LGO leaving is just around the
corner, so this is one of the last possibilities to make music with LGO
members led be myself. I specially hope to attract loads and loads of
past-LGO members to come along :-)
Also open mic again on the agenda...
IMPORTANT CHANGE: this time, there will be a door charge of ?3 to all
non-performers. Last time was too full... Musicians and other
performers have FREE ADMISSION though... Flyer with all info here...
7th June, 7.30pm: Balkan Organ
Carnival at St Gabriel's Church, Wanstead, with special guests Jenny Gilberg on steelpan and Paul
Ayres on church organ. Watch the space here for

21st June: Gypsyology
Outing - Enjoy a day out with the LGO.
Visit to the Romany Museum in Marden/Kent, afterwards treasure hunt and
picnic with music in the woods... ?25/?20 conc./?10 kids. Tickets sales
start later this week - limited spaces!!! Read the flyer for all info
28th June, 3pm: Gypsy Music and
Dance Show at the V&A
Museum
led by Gundula, with special guest dancer Saeeda
admission free, though you need to book here !
SOAS
SUMMER SCHOOL - 7th - til 11th July
Gundula's yearly intense workshop in the heart of London, for all
instrumentalists of intermediate and above level.
This year's theme: TRANSYLVANIAN
TREASURES - we explore Gypsy and folk
tunes from this area, including their accompaniments, embellishments
and other magical ingredients...

LAUNCH OF THE GYPSY ROMA TRAVELERS HISTORY MONTH at the V&A
a mini festival of Roma Culture, ?5/3 with music, poetry, dance, crafts
and more...
... our dance group is just trying to make time to perform a little
spot...
