8TH ? THE LONG HILL RAMBLERS
(http://www.longhillramblers.com/)
The Long Hill Ramblers? repertoire is drawn from among the
finest traditional songs on both sides of the Atlantic and they offer clear,
beautiful vocals, rich harmonies and virtuoso musicianship. Ben Paley has been called the best folk
fiddler of his generation. Tab Hunter is
a sparkling, understated guitarist. Dan Edwards (banjo) has only recently
joined the group. Laura Hockenhull is
widely admired for her fine voice and interpretations of the songs.
JULY
15TH ? SUNJAY BRAYNE

Sunjay Brayne visited the Club as Phil Beer?s
special guest last December. He is an
exquisite guitarist and fine singer, aged just 20, who is being hailed as a
huge emerging talent and we are delighted to welcome him back. Sunjay performs a mix of blues and folk,
including many of his own compositions.
He has been a BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award Nominee and has
supported the likes of Steeleye Span and Martin Simpson. He displays a maturity and confidence on
stage that belies his age.

Spikedrivers are Ben Tyzack (guitar, vocals & harmonica), Constance Redgrave (bass guitar, vocals & percussion) and Maurice McElroy (drums, vocals & percussion). They were formed in 1992 as a project based around Ben?s love for early blues and take inspiration from their country?s rich musical heritage. Spikedrivers? vocal harmonies, songwriting, and unique instrumentation make a fresh and exciting sound.

Brooks Williams is from Statesboro, Georgia ? made famous by Blind Willie McTell in his song Statesboro Blues ? but these days is based in Cambridge, UK. Brooks is a stunning guitarist who plays blues-soaked, rhythmic, and soulful music. At the root of every riff is the blues, it informs everything he plays, sings, writes, and arranges. Brooks Williams is one of the most engaging performers on the scene today.
