Subject: Upcoming Show Tuesday 29th July
Hello Everyone
Thanks to all who attended at the Rollo Markee event
last month and we were rewarded with a performance of great accomplishment in
all respects and also an in between history of little known areas of the blues
as icing on the cake. Great stuff!
Moving on to this month on the 29th we have the long awaited
return of Sam Kelly's Station House. Sam is probably the
single most loved musician as an individual amongst the regulars of the club,
appearing with several bands that perform there and engaging everyone with that
larger than life persona, endless smile and clear mastery of his art. He
is an award winning drummer and Statesman of British Blues. Along with
him in Station House come Paul Jobson and Spy Austin,
both fine musicians and the the other component of Geoff Achison's UK Soul
Diggers. Unfortunately we have lost the October booking with Geoff due to
unforeseen circumstances cancelling his European tour, however, with this trio
we have the finest combination of keyboard and rhythm section available in
these isles and this is simply why an artist of the calibre of Geoff Achison
uses them whenever he is in the country. Augmenting, these guys to make
up what is Station House come Tony Qunta on
guitar and vocals and Jerome Marcus on percussion, both with a
string of credits as long as your arm and we all know that Sam's perception
when putting musicians together is of the finest. The band are currently
making huge waves on the European circuit.
The essence of this band is Groove, with a capital 'G',
calling on traditional elements of the blues, then mixing in some funk, soul
and reggae rhythms
to complete the experience and as such is, without doubt, the ideal band to
take us dancing into the August break.
Please do pull out all the stops to support and close off
the season, it will be a fantastic night!
Tickets ?10. Bookings to me at the return email
address. Doors 7.30pm, band on stage 8.45pm. Good food, reasonably
priced, available to eat at your table if required. Further information,
location map etc. available at www.bottleneckblues.com
That's Sam Kelly's Station House on Tuesday
29th July.
Thanking you in anticipation of your support.
