      FRIDAY 12th SEPTEMBER - DOUBLE BILL

LAURA SMYTH and TED KEMP plus THE DOVETAIL TRIO

LAURA SMYTH and TED KEMP perform songs and tunes from the English tradition, including many from Laura's native Manchester and surrounding area, with arrangements featuring English concertina, 5-string banjo, melodeon, cello and guitar, with the occasional dance. With special guest, dancer LAUREL SWIFT.

THE DOVETAIL TRIO present England's traditional songs with infectious energy and a passion for musical heritage. Singer ROSIE HOOD is a winner of the Fred Jordan Memorial Award, JAMIE ROBERTS,  renowned for his narrative singing and driving guitar rhythm, is a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominee, while multi-instrumentalist MATT QUINN is well known at Musical Traditions Club for his powerful singing and tasty melodeon playing.

MAGGIE BOYLE and PAUL DOWNES Maggie is a London Irish singer whose musical roots were nourished in the musically vibrant community of the 1970s and especially in her youth by the tuition of Oliver Mulligan , who hosts this very special evening with Maggie, Paul and friends.
