Street Dance version of Romeo and Juliet

 

Set amongst the princes and nobles of Verona, this dynamic new production of Shakespeare?s Romeo and Juliet from Custom/Practice combines the purity and beauty of Shakespeare?s original text with entrancing contemporary street dance. Don?t miss this fantastic performance at Gulbenkian on Monday 29 & Tuesday 30 September at 7.30pm and Wednesday 1 October at 2pm & 7.30pm.

 

Caught between the long-running and bitter feud of their families, the Montagues and the Capulets, the star-crossed lovers must fight against the odds in this much-loved and powerful tale of forbidden romance, jealousy and betrayal.

 

Directed by Rae Mcken (Artistic Director, Custom/Practice), in collaboration with choreographer Kenrick ?H20? Sandy and composer Michael ?Mikey J? Asante from the Olivier award-winning hip-hop dance company, Boy Blue.

 

This dazzling and innovative version of the unforgettable classic is a must see for newcomers to Shakespeare and regular theatregoers alike.
