An Evening With Steve 'Boltz' Bolton // Quiz
Night // Audioshock // Valve Control // Samantha Whates
Good day to you all! We bring news from the
revolving doors of The Lighthouse.
First
off, a huge thanks to all those who performed, attended and staffed
our Hatton Hootenanny event at The Astor Theatre last Friday. We all
had a whale of an 'ol time and raised a good amount of money for the
Pilgrim's Hospice. Quite a magical night! Heres a pic from the event
...
Now then, we also open TONIGHT (tuesday) with a special event, so
please do read on ...
Tuesday
14th October
An Evening
With Steve 'Boltz' Bolton
Doors 7pm
// 'Boltz' from 8:30pm
?5 Entry available in advance HERE
and on the door.
Who would you
choose to replace Pete Townshend as The Who's guitarist?
Pete Townshend
chose Steve "Boltz" Bolton for their 1989 tour, that's who.
Veteran
guitarist of the legendary Atomic Rooster, Boltz has been there, done
it? and got the tour T shirt.
A Rock'n'Roll
raconteur, Boltz takes you through the soaring highs and plummeting
lows of a life spent at the mercy of a Stratocaster and paymasters
including Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Belinda Carlisle,
Dave Gilmore, Donny Osmond, Ray Davies, Richard Strange, Paul Young,
Rick Wright and John Otway.
With musical
demonstrations (How did Hank Marvin get that sound?) and celebrity
phonecalls ("Keith?are you awake?") An Evening with Steve Bolton is a
must for anyone with an interest in the history of rock....and a
vicarious interest in the rock'n'roll lifestyle!
Also,
a quick reminder about us teaming up with the great folk at
Pieminister to bring you a menu of excellent pies, mash, peas and
gravy!
The pub is to now open on Wednesdays from 5pm to serve food and
drinks.
Have a look at our menu ...
Serving times as follows:
Wednesday: 5pm - 9pm
Thursday: 5pm - 9pm
Friday: 5pm - 7:30pm

The Lighthouse are excited to announce a performance from these
cats from the south east of London.
We are Valve Control, a Neo blues and funk 4-piece from south-east
London. Starting out in April 2009, we came together with a shared
desire to create music that isn't shaped by what's popular, but
what feels good and gets the people moving and groovin'. Valve
Control's sound is influenced by the funk, the soul and the tight
band leaders.

Samantha
Whates
Samantha Whates is a Scotland born, London based singer -songwriter
who has as much in common with the sounds from Scando-folk
label Rune Grammofon as with the likes of Joni Mitchell, Vashti
Bunyan and Suzanne Vega, whose influences are all apparent on her
debut album 'Dark Nights make for Brighter Days' (released via
Natural Studio Records 2011)
M G Boulter
M G Boulter is a songwriter and musician who currently lives on the
outer reaches of the Thames coast in England.
M G's first collection of songs was released in 2008 under the
moniker, Blue Vinyl Island and featured a myriad of musicians known
as The Secret Six. The follow up, The Whispering Pines, was
released by Stovepony Records in 2012 and continued the exploration
of lo-fi roots recordings that was started in Blue Vinyl Island. In
July 2013, M G's third solo album, The Water or the Wave, was released
by Harbour Song Records. M G recruited various friends and
colleagues for the album sessions, including Lucky Strikes
compatriot Paul Ambrose, Bryony Afferson and Lizzy O'Connor from
London folk and bluegrass band Troubadour Rose and, by no means least,
legendary Dire Straits and Bob Dylan drummer Pick Withers. This
eclectic cast helped Matthew create a work of considerable warmth
and subtlety.
Plus ?. We are pleased to announce the inclusion of the Reggae Roast!
Delicious tastes of the Caribbean mixed with the traditional
English roast dinner, at an incredible price of ?7.50! Chef Tyrone
will be serving you from 12pm. Relax and eat while enjoying some
reggae tunes at a volume that is proven to aid digestion and
stimulate taste buds.
This is to be a regular fixture as part of our weekly ?Sunday
Service'. Leave the cooking to Tyrone and join us here!

popular demand, booking a table is very much recommended.
