Weekly News

Projections Night // Les Freres Smith // Gentlemen Of Few // Fran McGillivray & Michael Burke

Good evening to you all! We bring news from the revolving doors of The Lighthouse.

Remember we are now open on Wednesdays, selling a fine selection of pies, mash, peas and gravy. That means the doors are open tonight, so do stop by!

Right folks, I can't go any further till I remind you all of our special ticketed event this Friday the 24th. It is a monster of a night at that ...

Les Freres Smith is a 12 piece afrobeat / afrofunk / ethiojazz / globalgroove orchestra from Paris, France.
Tickets ?10 in advance available behind the bar and online HERE.

Refusing all kinds of contractual supervision promising colonial looting of their music, Les Freres Smith have handled their business themselves, violently stucking their knives on the desk of filthy producers and doing confettis of these paper chains made to hold them up. Self-managed, self-produced, self-financed. Contreband Mentality!

The first album, Contreband Mentality, produced by Les Freres Smith themselves with support and precious help by mythical afrobeat label Comet Records led by Eric Trosset, featuring the great Tony Allen and the crazy guitarist minister Oghene Kologbo from Fela's Africa 70, was mixed by afrobeat specialist Loik Dury (Kraked Records), and mastered by experienced producer Grant Phabao (Timec).

So, do join us for this rare opportunity!
